Ryobi One+ Angle Grinder
What’s an angle grinder? What would you use it for?
Its a tool that generally has a metal grinding or cutting disc that it spins at right angles to the body. Traditionally used on metal and sometimes stone for grinding and cutting. As someone who has spent the last 30 years in engineering, an angle grinder was a fairly obvious choice I guess. But fitted with a flap disc I use it a lot on carpentry work for sanding odd shape surfaces, it’s great for coping (typically fitting skirting board or baseboard into internal corners) and it’s also good for shaping edges of boards where you’re trying to get them to fit uneven walls. This one is the cheaper of the two available from Ryobi and of all my tools I’d say it’s the one that eats batteries the most and it always feels a little underpowered (but I do only have 2.0AH batteries) Would I buy it again? Yes but I might upgrade to the more expensive version if I did.
Note: It doesn't necessarily come with any addons I’ve shown in the picture. I'm just showing what you can get for it. Also most battery tools are sold as "Bare" which means NO BATTERY so you may need to buy the battery (and charger) separately. Check the detail of what you’re buying before you buy because specs do change.
