Ryobi One+ Reciprocating Saw
What’s a reciprocating saw? What’s it good for?
A reciprocating saw is what you might call a grown up jigsaw. Usually with longer, wider, stronger blades than a jigsaw but working in a similar way they can cut wood, plastic or metal with the right blade fitted. They’re not great for fine work but for tearing through scrap wood, pallets, branches etc they’re great. The Ryobi has a quick change blade mechanism with a simple release lever.
It’s not the most used tool in my kit but for awkward access jobs or if you’re doing a big refurbishment there might be a case for it. I’ve cut branches, floor joists, composite decking joists, pipe and fencing panels and posts with mine.
Despite the fact I don’t use it so much I’d happily buy another because when I need it, it’s great.
Note: It doesn't necessarily come with any addons I’ve shown in the picture. I'm just showing what you can get for it. Also most battery tools are sold as "Bare" which means NO BATTERY so you may need to buy the battery (and charger) separately. Check the detail of what you’re buying before you buy because specs do change.
